Refractory engineering requires a wide range of technical knowledge. The demand of engineering is diverse and complex. Since its foundation in October 1985, ikb – Ingenieur- und Konstruktionsbüro für Feuerungsbau GmbH – has been taking on the challenge of difficult engineering jobs. Our engineers apply their expertise to all heat containment applications: i.e. iron and steel, petrochemical and chemical, cement and lime, power and incineration industries that use refractory materials. Our clients include refractory producers and installers together with OEM’s and end users.

We especially set store by developing and implementing new ideas in project work, particularly in view of effective and efficient application of new materials. Our independent specialists supervise construction sites for furnace and refractory structures – at home and abroad – on behalf of our customers. It goes without saying that, in doing so, they also assert our clients’ interests with new construction and repair work. At our headquarters in Andernach, our team works at high-performance workstations which are equipped with state of the art 2- and 3-D software. This enables us to tackle even difficult jobs quickly and efficiently with excellent communication options available.
