Blankets in layer installation are pushed onto bayonet rods, the individual layers are fixed using mounting clips and secured with a twist clip once all layers have been installed. In applications involving high temperatures the final twist clip is substituted by a ceramic component, the cuplock.

The end of the bayonet rods stands behind from the hot side of the lining and is protected by a fibre-mastic plug that closes the opening of the Cuplock.
