DS

The slotted studs which are still used today no longer represent the state of the art as an anchoring system. Where retention forces need to be transmitted to the refractory concrete they are weakened by the slot. Added to these mechanical disadvantages is the fact that the slotted stud is extremely prone to corrosion since the relative surface on both sides is very large.

vhi has developed the DS Series as an alternative to slotted studs. The big advantage compared to slotted studs is, that the anchors in the DS Series have undamaged cross-sections. It has equal legs, therefore both sides provide the full retention force for the refractory concrete and offer greater resistance to corrosion attacks due to their geometry.

vhi has developed four types of anchors in the DS Series:

The DSV (for stud welding) and the DSVH (for manual welding) is already bent and can be used for single layer lining as well as for multilayer lining when using gunned insulation.

The DSS (for stud welding) and the DSSH (for manual welding) are designed for linings with block insulation. After the block insulation has been installed, the anchor is bent at the position of the welding point.
