WAB – A

Anchor blocks are used to anchor refractory bricks, for example the FE format range, in a wall lining. These are usually made from steel casting or punched flat bars. Cast parts break suddenly when reaching their limit load and the punched eye of anchor blocks made from flat bars often rips on the hot side; vhi has addressed these issues and improved this retention system by developing the WAB-A Series.

The base of the WAB-A Series is made from 12mm round bars. The bolt, that fits into the recess of the support bricks, has a diameter of 25 mm. The round bars are made of wrought alloy so that it is ductile and adapts flexibly to the changed load statuses without breaking immediately. The lengths of the anchor blocks are adapted to the dimensions usual on the market, but other lengths can be supplied at the request of the customer.

The wide range of alloy to choose from represents a further advantage: The WAB-A anchor blocks can be made from any desired alloys and therefore adapted to the respective application.
